Privacy Policy

About this policy

This policy explains what personal information Nova Field Grove handles, why we handle it, and what choices you have. Nova Field Grove is an information blog about orchard planning and fruit gardening, operated from Shizuoka, Japan. It has no shop, no user accounts and no paid features, so the amount of personal information involved is small. We handle it in line with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Last updated: October 2026.

Who is responsible and how to reach us

The blog is run under the name Nova Field Grove. For any question about personal information, write to help@novafieldgrove.com, call +81 54-640-0469, or send a letter to 1-28-15 Miyukicho, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Shizuoka 420-0857, Japan. Please mark the message "Privacy" so it reaches the right person.

Information we receive

We receive only the following:

  • Messages you send us. If you use the "Write Us a Message" form on the home page or email us, we receive the details you type: your name, your email address, an optional phone number and the text of your message. The form fields are optional beyond what is needed to answer you.
  • Technical data from the server. When a page is requested, the web server that hosts the blog records ordinary technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the address of the page requested and the time. This is routine for any website and is used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse.
  • Your answer to the cookie notice. A small first-party cookie remembers that you have seen and answered the notice. It contains no name or contact detail. See the Cookie Privacy Policy for the exact cookies.

What we do not collect

Nova Field Grove does not sell anything, so it does not collect payment details, delivery addresses or order histories. It has no visitor accounts, no newsletter list, no analytics tool, no advertising or remarketing tags and no social media plug-ins. We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to include it in a message: health details, financial account numbers and similar information are never needed to answer a gardening question.

Why we use it

We use the messages you send for four purposes only: to answer your question, to correct or improve a guide when you point out a mistake, to keep the site secure and working, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not build profiles of readers, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Services provided by Google

Two pieces of the site are loaded from Google. The typeface (Instrument Sans) is requested from Google Fonts, and the contact block near the foot of each page shows a Google Map of our contact address. When your browser fetches these, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, and the map may also set cookies of its own. Google may process this information outside Japan, including in the United States, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive any of that data and cannot control it. If you prefer not to load these items, you can block them in your browser; the text of the blog remains readable.

Sharing with others

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except where the law allows or requires it: for example when a court or public authority makes a lawful request, or when it is necessary to protect someone's life, body or property and obtaining consent is not possible. The company that hosts the site processes server logs on our behalf as part of providing its service.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept only for as long as it is useful for answering you and for any reasonable follow-up, and is then deleted, normally within twelve months of the last message. Server logs are kept according to the hosting provider's rotation schedule. The notice cookie expires in your browser after 365 days.

Your rights

Under the APPI you may ask us to tell you the purposes for which we use your personal information, to disclose the information we hold about you, to correct or add to it if it is wrong, and to delete it or stop using it. Send the request to the email address above. We may ask you to confirm that the request really comes from you, for instance by replying from the same address you used before. We will answer within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled a request, you may also contact Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep the messages we receive from being lost, altered or seen by people who should not see them. Ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted, so please do not put anything confidential in a message to us.

Children

The blog is written for general readers and is not directed at children. If a child has sent us personal information and you would like it removed, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the blog starts to do something that changes how personal information is handled, for example adding an analytics tool or a newsletter, we will update this page and the Cookie Privacy Policy before that feature goes live, and the date at the top will change.
